When I stumbled upon this full length vintage faux fur coat it was one of those moments where my eyes lit up and my heart skipped a little beat but I kept browsing because “well, when would I ever wear that?”. I went on with my normal shopping ways but as I was checking out with my safer vintage finds, I kept glancing back at the coat longingly. I felt retail regret setting in before I even left the store. I told the sales associate that was checking me out to hold on a sec as I dashed back towards the coat. I tried it on and just like that I was sold. Next thing I know I’m on a subway back to Manhattan with an enormous shopping bag spilling with faux fur.
Fashion Week rolled around and naturally, making an outfit featuring the coat was on my agenda. Yes, I took the easy route and paired it with an all black ensemble, but let’s be real, this coat needed its moment and anything else would have been a bit garish. I dressed it down with a pair of Nike Air Force 1s and some distressed Levi’s. I still felt incredibly regal. Only complaint is that the rest of my outfit was covered in faux fur by the end of the day. You can’t have it all!
