Can we talk about athletic-wear or “athleisure”, if you will, for a minute? This trend has been hanging tight for quite a few seasons now and I’m starting to think it’s becoming more than just a fleeting trend. It’s an echo of a fundamental shift in lifestyles and the way people dress day-to-day. I think a big indicator of this is how the trend evolves and is reinvented each season, kind of like a staple does. I could be completely wrong on this but either way, I love athletic wear and will continue styling and wearing it as long as I do.
I’m a huge Wang and Adidas fan, so naturally I was stoked when the Alexander Wang x Adidas Originals drop 2 was announced last month. I ended up copping this two piece set and wowowow, CAN I LIVE IN THIS FOREVER? So comfy, cool and slightly androgynous. The inverted stripes and upside-down trefoil breathe new life into the classic Adidas logo.(Purchase top here & bottoms here)
One of my favorite ways to style athletic-wear is to add unexpected pieces that almost clash and make 0 sense but somehow look really freaking cool. I’m talking structured blazers over hoodies, delicate pumps with oversized sweats, or a windbreaker over a floaty dress.
I decided to add some height with a pair of Public Desire sock boots(sold out but similar here.) and the look still maintains a sense of effortlessness. I would also 100% pair this set with some white kicks and call it a day.
